  • No, Restorative Conferencing training isn’t limited to the Isle of Man.
This training has been delivered across the UK for many years, supporting schools, local authorities and community organisations nationwide.

However, as part of the Adaptive Classroom pilot, we are offering an exclusive course on the Isle of Man so that local educators and practitioners can benefit directly from this work. It’s a unique opportunity to access high-quality restorative training without leaving the island, and to build the relational culture that underpins the Adaptive Classroom model.

  • Restorative Conferencing training is for everyone.
The more people who understand the power of restorative practice, the bigger the impact on children, families and whole-school culture.

While anyone can benefit, it is especially valuable for:

    • Staff leading on Culture, Behaviour and Attitudes

    • SLT and senior leadership teams

    • Learning Mentors

    • Attendance Support Officers

    • Family Workers

    • Social Workers

    • Outreach Youth Workers

    • Anyone working directly with young people and their families

If you play a role in supporting relationships, behaviour, wellbeing or community connection, this training will strengthen your practice and expand your impact.

  • Not quite but you’re halfway there.
The Adaptive Classroom is built from two core pillars: culture and design. Restorative training forms the cultural foundation, so by completing the 3-day course and embedding restorative practice in your school, you’ve already achieved half of the model.

To become a full Adaptive Classroom, you would then add the design element including the adaptive furniture available through Werk Solutions and the training programme delivered by Metamorphia.

With both parts in place, your school could be well on its way to creating its first fully realised Adaptive Classroom.

  • Breaking the Cycle of Ineffective Punishment: Systems that focus soley on punishment without repair are less effective in breaking cycles of harmful behaviour than those that give the harmed a voice and support a process of reintegration for the harmer.

Meeting the Behavioural Needs of Vulnerable Groups: Schools and their communities aiming to address the specific behavioural needs of a small group of children require tailored strategies that restorative practices can provide.

Ensuring Safe and Effective Restorative Conferences: Schools and their communities must be able to properly risk assess the suitability of a Restorative Conference (RC) in line with the Restorative Justice Council's (RJC) best practice guidelines.

Trauma-Sensitive Responses: Schools and their communities need to respond to incidents of hurt or harm with consideration for the trauma and life experiences of all parties involved, ensuring a compassionate and restorative approach.
